Day 35 – May 8, 2022
Zero in Tehachapi, CA
0.0 trail miles | 0.0 tracked miles
Day two of my double-zero in Tehachapi, CA was a lazy day.
We relaxed at the pool and drank beer in the hot tub. That’s officially against the rules, but the hotel is decidedly hiker friendly—they even have a hiker box in the lobby—and the staff didn’t bat an eye.
Joe, Michael, and I bid farewell to Christie, who’s decided to take a break from the trail and join other hikers on a road trip through Sequoia National Park and beyond. I’m sure our paths will cross again in the future.
In the evening, we were able to reconnect with a few hikers that are behind us, and I met one of Joe’s childhood friends who’s also hiking the PCT. He wasn’t able to get the same start date as Joe and has been catching up to him.
I’ll be back on trail tomorrow!
